America’s most famous talent competition will be back on your television screen this week.
Only 55 acts continued on to "America’s Got Talent" live shows after thousands of hopefuls from around the world auditioned for Season 18 judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel.
The remaining acts were split into groups of 11 and will compete weekly over the next month to narrow down the top 11 acts.
The live shows began airing Aug. 22 and will continue each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Fans will cast their vote each week to determine what two acts will continue on to the finale. Those winners are announced Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The top 11 acts will appear in the "AGT" finale on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 for their chance to win $1 million and a show in Las Vegas.

How does America's Got Talent work?
Contestants will participate in auditions, live shows and the final show over the 15-week show. In order to move forward to the live shows, acts must receive at least three "yes" responses from the judges.
There is a way for acts to advance automatically, though. Every single "AGT" judge and host Terry Crews will have the chance to automatically advance an act to the Live Shows with the Golden Buzzer.
Seven acts competing in Season 18 have automatically advanced to the Live Shows with help from the judges, audience and Crews.
The remaining 55 acts compete weekly to advance to the finale.
The top 11 overall acts will perform one more time for a chance to win the cash prize and a show in Las Vegas.
